We are seeking qualified Early Childhood staff for our YWCA New Britain childcare program. The qualified individuals play a vital role in the classroom teaching team by providing a safe, nurturing environment through hands-on, engaging learning experiences which promote active learning through a play-based approach. YWCA New Britain is a full-service, nonprofit organization serving children from Infancy through School-Age.
Must be knowledgeable with NAEYC Accreditation, Creative Curriculum, the CT PAF, and CT ELDs.
Associate Teacher - Full-time position working under the direction of the teacher. Build strong partnerships with families and the classroom teaching team. Implement developmentally appropriate practice in the classroom with a play-based approach. Support the teacher with classroom preparation and implementing the weekly lesson plans in all domains using the Creative Curriculum and CT ELDS as your guides. Create an inviting, warm, nurturing learning environment. Conduct ongoing observations and documentation of children’s progress in all of CT PAF Standards. Step into the role of the teacher in their absence.
o Associate’s degree in ECE or 30 ECE credits from an approved accredited college. Prefer 2 years’ experience working in a NAEYC Accredited child care program.
Per Diem Subs - Team player, that enjoys singing, laughing, and reading to children. Minimum high school diploma and 18 years of age.
