Randstad are supporting a specialist SEN school within the Crawley area, looking for positive and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to start next term (September 2022). Maybe your an experienced teaching assistant, support worker, or have recently finished college looking for a fresh challenge?

The school's team has long-term experience in admitting independent day pupils while also embracing excellent core values. Staff will receive in-house training, and you will also have the capacity to deliver an outstanding curriculum and SEN provision.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Provided support to groups 5-8 in size
  • Plan, prepare and deliver lessons and activities, focusing on life skills
  • Provide behaviour based support that may impact quality of life
  • Leading students during class by tracking their progress
  • Enabling learners to access the curriculum
  • Supporting the pastoral needs of the learners
  • Being an active part in creating a positive learning environment
  • Supporting students as part of a small group in a range of activities throughout the day
  • Using your interests to engage learners in learning

Key skills and experience needed:

  • Experience working with people with special needs (desirable)
  • Be able to work with learners that have various learning difficulties including epilepsy and autism
  • Have an understanding of students with emotional needs
  • Willingness to learn and build relationships with learners
  • The ability to work as an individual and as a part of the team.
  • Be flexible in your approach to education.
  • Own means of transport is essential
