Roles & Responsibilities

As an English Teacher, you will:

Plan and deliver engaging lessons that align with the national curriculum for Key Stages 3 and 4

Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes a love of reading, writing, and critical thinking

Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and differentiated support

Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to department planning, meetings, and curriculum development

Manage classroom behaviour effectively in line with school policies

Support students' overall academic and personal development

Participate in school life, including parents' evenings and extracurricular activities where applicable

What we're looking for:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with an English specialism - ECTs encouraged to apply

Confidence in teaching English up to Key Stage 4

Strong classroom management and engaging teaching style

Adaptability, flexibility, and a positive attitude
