Job Opportunity: Civil Engineer (Building Design) - Temporary Contract

Are you a skilled Civil Engineer looking for a flexible and rewarding opportunity? We are seeking a motivated individual to join our Infrastructure team, supporting a variety of exciting design and construction projects across the UK.

Position Details:

Location: Flexible - work from any of our offices in Glasgow, Newcastle, Leeds, Manchester, Bristol, Cardiff, or Birmingham
Start Date: ASAP
Initial Contract Duration: 6 months (with potential extension based on workload)
Hours: 37.5 per week
Working Arrangement: Hybrid (minimum 3 days in-office)
Rate: Negotiable based on experience and skills
Expenses: Covered for travel to/from project sites
Notice Period: 1 week (contractor), 4 weeks (employer)
Security Vetting Level: B
About the Role:

You'll be part of a national Building Design Practice, contributing to the delivery of small to medium infrastructure projects. This is a non-location-specific role offering remote work flexibility or access to any of our UK offices.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver technically focused civil engineering designs
Produce designs in line with relevant standards and codes
Ensure high-quality engineering services
Manage your time effectively
Collaborate within multidisciplinary teams
Adhere to BIM standards and project execution plans
Requirements:

Honours Degree in Civil Engineering (preferred) or HND/equivalent experience
Working towards ICE chartership
Experience in drainage, utilities, pavement design, earthworks, and construction logistics
Familiarity with UK design standards
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civils 3D (Revit/BIM 360 desirable)
Strong communication and report writing skills
Ability to work independently and in teams
Willingness to embrace digital engineering and automation
Driving licence and SC clearance (desirable)

Security Clearance:
