CORPORATE-191105-9751: Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO) LocationU.S. - Virginia - Reston Open Date11/5/2019 JOB DESCRIPTION SOS International LLC (SOSi) is seeking an Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO) to work at its headquarters in Reston, VA. The AFSO will support day-to-day operation of SOSi’s Industrial Security Program and enforce compliance with all government regulations and requirements contained in the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) and other government directives. The AFSO will also assist with the development and enforcement of SOSi’s security policies, practices, and procedures and will play an active role in the Insider Threat Program.ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES Process personnel security clearance applications (SF86s and Suitability/MRPT SF85Ps) as well as periodic reinvestigations in accordance with DoD requirements Maintain and update the Joint Personnel Adjudication System (JPAS), for multiple CAGE codes Assist with the development, implementation and monitoring of security policies and procedures, to include the Insider Threat Program Provide security indoctrinations, debriefings, pre/post travel briefings and annual refresher briefings Fingerprinting clearance candidates using electronic fingerprinting machine and software Responsible for pre-screening candidates to mitigate risk to the government, as well as ensure that accurate paperwork and information is submitted to customers Assist with the implementation of safeguarding, classification management, physical security, security education and personnel security requirements set forth by government customers Assist with the management of classified spaces Enforce standards for protection of company personnel, property and information Prepare for government audits by conducting routine self-inspections of cleared facilities, identifying deficiencies, and recommending corrective actions Investigate security violations and submit required report to the government when necessary Manage access control systems including badge and key controls Document and maintain personnel security files and rosters Maintain and track DD Form 254s, to include issuing DD254s to subcontractors Establish and maintain successful working relationships with government and internal customers Assist with personnel badge and key issuing Provide backup reception coverage as necessary Perform other duties as assigned MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Bachelor’s degree with at least three years’ of experience in government/industrial security OR an Associate’s Degree with at least five years’ of experience in industrial security Completed the DSS Academy FSO courses Ability to pass a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to Top Secret classified information Supports multiple government agency security action requests and respond in a timely manner when urgency is required Ability to work in a fast paced and deadline driven environment Ability to work independently and cooperatively on a team Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills (both written and verbal) Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, JPAS, E-QiP, Access Commander Discreet handling of confidential information ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Working conditions as normal for an office environment Requires periods of non-traditional hours including consecutive nights or weekends when necessary
