Service Manager required for a leading organisation within the lift industry. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well established and growing company who are truly pioneers in what they do with an impressive global client base. To apply for this role you will hold experience within service management, however, you can come from any industry background. Candidates from lifts, construction, FM or engineering will transfer particularly well. You will have experience of managing teams and will be confident assimilating technical information.

The successful Service Manager will oversee up to twelve engineers at a given time who are responsible for carrying out maintenance and services on elevators and escalators. You will plan and schedule the work load and manage the call back rate. You will work to reduce call backs but ensure they are managed efficiently when required. You will manage the maintenance budget, included material costs, and approve further expenses as required.

The role will cover the Central area of London and will be based out of the company's head office in London, which you will likely visit on a weekly basis, however, this role is client facing and will be based on customer sites. Managing customer relationships is a key focus of this role and you will represent the company throughout the full process, from quotation to completion, answering technical queries that customers may have along the way. You will carry out quality audits on site to ensure issues are pro-actively addressed and ensure all units are fully services. You will also survey equipment and generate customer reports and quotations.

The Service Manager will also be responsible for managing the performance of their team and ensuring talent is developed. You will assess skill gaps to ensure further training, where needed, is provided, and will coach the team to ensure continuous improvement.
