We are currently supporting a specialist primary school in the Rochdale area to recruit a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant to begin as soon as possible. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established, child-centred setting that provides education for children aged 3 to 11 with a wide range of special educational needs.

The school is co-located with a mainstream primary, creating valuable opportunities for inclusion and collaborative learning where appropriate. The team prides itself on delivering flexible, individualised learning within a warm, inclusive, and well-supported environment.

The Role:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

Work closely with class teachers and therapists to support children with a range of additional needs, including complex learning needs, communication difficulties, and physical or sensory impairments

Deliver targeted interventions to help pupils overcome barriers to learning

Assist with personalised learning plans and differentiated activities

Support pupils both in the classroom and in shared learning spaces, promoting independence and social skills

Foster a nurturing, safe, and inclusive learning environment in line with each pupil's Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP)

What We're Looking For:

Essential:

Experience supporting children with SEN in a school, nursery, or care setting

A positive, patient, and adaptable approach to supporting individual needs

Availability to work Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm

Desirable:

Experience working with pupils aged 3-11 with complex or multiple needs

Knowledge of personalised or differentiated teaching approaches

Familiarity with EHCPs or intervention planning

Additional Information:

This is a full-time, term-time only position (no part-time roles available)

Applicants must be based in the UK and available for immediate start

This role is subject to an enhanced DBS, safeguarding checks, and references from the last two years

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
