Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant - KS1 (1:1 Support)
Location: L15, Liverpool
Working Hours: 8:45 AM - 3:15 PM, Monday to Friday
Start Date: September

A warm and inclusive primary school in the L15 area of Liverpool is seeking an experienced and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a KS1 pupil with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

This is a rewarding role that offers the opportunity to make a real difference in a child's learning and daily experience at school.

Role Responsibilities:

Provide consistent 1:1 support for a KS1 boy with ASD throughout the school day

Deliver tailored interventions, including phonics and basic literacy/numeracy support

Help the child manage routines and transitions using strategies suited to his needs

Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement and adapt support strategies

Use positive behaviour management techniques to create a calm and supportive environment

Foster the child's social development and help build independence

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Previous experience working with children with SEN, particularly Autism

Confidence delivering phonics interventions and supporting early learning

A nurturing, patient, and proactive approach

Strong communication and teamwork skills

The ability to work collaboratively with school staff and parents

A relevant TA qualification (Level 2 or above preferred)

An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
