Workshop Manager – BedfordLocation: BedfordSalary: £50,000+Hours: Monday to Friday, 06:00 – 17:00We’re looking for an experienced Workshop Manager to lead and drive performance in a busy plant hire depot. You’ll oversee a team of Fitters and Yard Staff, ensuring all machinery is maintained, safe, and ready for hire quickly and efficiently. Must have previous Plant experience, ideally coming from an engineer background or current engineer looking to take that next step into management. Key Responsibilities

• Manage workshop & yard operations across two workshops
• Oversee servicing, PDIs, LOLERs, and general repairs
• Improve workshop output and minimise machine downtime
• Maintain high mechanical standards and equipment readiness
• Lead weekly 5S audits and promote H&S best practices
• Plan daily tasks and support delivery readiness
• Deputise for the Depot Manager when needed

What We’re Looking For

• NVQ Level 2/3 or City & Guilds in Plant Maintenance
• Strong plant machinery knowledge
• Experience leading or supervising a workshop team
• Organised, proactive, and confident in a fast-paced environment
• Good IT, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Full UK driving licence
