We’re seeking a Research Manager to join a dynamic, research-focused team at a prestigious university. This is an immediate full-time, 12-month contract with hybrid working flexibility. You’ll play a key role in delivering coordinated research support, working closely with academic staff and central research teams across multiple departments.
Research Manager Key Responsibilities: - Collaborate with senior leadership and university teams to coordinate research administration
- Line manage research support staff and provide guidance to professional services teams
- Ensure research processes align with institutional procedures and maintain consistency across departments
- Support strategic research planning by understanding departmental priorities and development needs
- Attend key meetings and help organise internal and external research events and workshops
- Collect and analyse data to support reporting, progress tracking, and strategic planning
- Maintain effective communication between academic and administrative teams
Research Manager Essential Requirements:
- Experience working in UK higher education, ideally in research or academic support roles
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills with ability to influence stakeholders
- Excellent organisational abilities with attention to detail and capacity to manage multiple priorities
- Proven leadership experience and confidence working with senior academic and administrative staff
- Experience supporting doctoral students and contributing to research assessment processes
