The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Senior Site Engineer to join a highly respected UK-based construction contractor delivering projects across a range of sectors, including commercial, retail, residential, and industrial.

This is a key role for a proactive professional who can take ownership of the technical delivery on-site, lead engineering teams, and ensure projects are delivered safely, accurately, and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Oversight

*

Ensure works are carried out in line with design drawings, technical specifications, and industry regulations.

*

Maintain engineering quality and consistency across the site.

Setting Out & Surveying

*

Accurately mark out site features, foundations, utilities, and structural elements using modern surveying equipment.

*

Maintain precise records and as-built data for project documentation.

Quality Control

*

Implement and monitor quality assurance procedures to ensure all work meets project and regulatory standards.

*

Identify and resolve non-conformities quickly and effectively.

Health & Safety

*

Promote and enforce high standards of health and safety across the site.

*

Conduct risk assessments, deliver safety inductions, and contribute to the site's safety culture.

Team Leadership

*

Supervise junior engineers and coordinate with subcontractors to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.

*

Act as a point of technical authority and mentorship on-site.

Resource Management

*

Monitor and manage the use of materials, equipment, and manpower to ensure efficiency and minimal waste.

*

Liaise with procurement and logistics teams to align resources with project needs.

Progress Monitoring

*

Track project progress against programmes and timelines, reporting on any deviations or delays.

*

Provide accurate progress updates to site and project management teams.

Communication & Coordination

*

Liaise effectively with architects, consultants, construction managers, and client representatives.

*

Ensure all stakeholders are informed and aligned throughout each stage of the build.

Problem-Solving

*

Tackle technical and logistical challenges proactively to avoid delays and maintain quality.

*

Drive solutions that keep projects on track and within specification.

Requirements

*

Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or related discipline.

*

Significant experience in a similar role on large-scale construction projects.

*

Proficient in setting out and use of surveying tools and AutoCAD.

*

Strong leadership, communication, and team coordination skills.

*

Knowledge of relevant building regulations, health & safety standards, and construction methods.

*

Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel as needed.
