Are you an experienced procurement or plant hire professional with strong attention to detail and a passion for delivering value across the supply chain? Manpower are representing an exciting client in Bradford. We are looking for a proactive Procurement Manager to join our finance and operations team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of purchasing processes, support strategic cost-saving initiatives, and ensure timely procurement of materials, goods, and plant hire services for a growing business.

🔍 What You'll Be Doing

You'll be responsible for streamlining procurement processes, liaising with suppliers, and ensuring accurate and timely ordering, delivery, and invoicing. Your work will directly impact the efficiency of operations across all departments.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Raising purchase orders for all goods, services, and plant hire

Liaising with operational teams to forecast and fulfil procurement needs

Negotiating with suppliers to secure cost-effective pricing and terms

Managing inventory levels, monthly stock takes, and accurate valuations

Monitoring deliveries, chasing outstanding items, and managing supplier queries

Maintaining the Plant Hire database and ensuring data accuracy

Sourcing ad hoc suppliers and processing card payments or proforma invoices

Managing supplier onboarding and credit applications

Coordinating hotel bookings and managing vehicle toll accounts (e.g., Dart Tag, Humber Tag)

Supporting production teams with costing and procurement reporting

✅ What You'll Need to Succeed

Essential:

GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths

Previous experience with material and plant hire ordering using a computerised database

Excellent Microsoft Excel skills

High attention to detail and accuracy

Strong communication skills (verbal & written)

Good planning and organisation skills

Ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Self-motivated and able to prioritise workload effectively

A visible commitment to SHEQ values (Safety, Health, Environment & Quality)

Desirable:

Experience using RedSky (especially purchasing and plant hire modules)

Prior experience in a construction or engineering-based procurement role
