Prospero Teaching is currently supporting a lovely nursery setting in Hilsea, Portsmouth, in their search for a caring and qualified Level 3 Early Years Practitioner to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to play a vital role in helping young children grow and thrive in a supportive and welcoming environment.

About the Role

You'll be working with children from birth up to age five, supporting their growth across the EYFS framework. Whether you're bringing energy to outdoor play or calm guidance during rest times, your work will help shape the early learning experiences that stay with them for life.

This role offers variety and purpose - working both independently and alongside a dedicated team to ensure every child feels valued, safe, and ready to explore the world around them.

Key Responsibilities
  • Encourage children's development through play, exploration, and tailored interactions

  • Support emotional well-being, confidence, and independence

  • Help maintain a consistent and nurturing environment with clear routines

  • Contribute ideas and input to age-appropriate learning plans

  • Record observations and progress to inform next steps in care and education

  • Provide inclusive support that meets individual needs

  • Assist with personal care routines, always upholding dignity and sensitivity

  • Follow safeguarding procedures and respect confidentiality at all times

What We're Looking For

You'll be a great fit if you:

  • Hold a Level 3 qualification in Early Years or Childcare

  • Have hands-on experience in nursery or early years settings

  • Are committed to creating a warm, safe, and engaging space for children

  • Bring patience, creativity, and genuine care to your role

  • Understand child development and the EYFS framework

  • Communicate with ease - with children, families, and colleagues

  • Have solid literacy, numeracy, and basic IT skills
