Overview
We are currently working in partnership with a leading global consultancy renowned for delivering innovative sustainability and infrastructure solutions. This award-winning organisation is expanding its UK-based Transport Engineering team and seeking a Senior Highways Engineer with strong consultancy experience, particularly in Active Travel Design, Roundabout Design and Junction Design.

The Role
As Senior Highway Engineer, you will play a vital role in the design and delivery of highways and infrastructure projects. Key responsibilities include:

Leading on the preparation of detailed designs, feasibility studies, and technical reports
Managing projects including budgeting, costings, and preparing Bills of Quantities
Ensuring designs comply with specifications, health & safety regulations (including CDM), and environmental standards
Liaising with clients, stakeholders, and third parties, including overseeing negotiations and technical discussions
Providing mentorship and support to junior engineers and technical staff
Coordinating with internal teams across multi-disciplinary projectsAbout You
You'll be a motivated and technically confident engineer with a background in civil/infrastructure consultancy. We're looking for:

Experience delivering S278/S38 schemes within a consultancy or client-side environment
Strong Active Travel or other Public Sector highways design schemes experience
Strong working knowledge of DMRB and Manual for Streets
Proficiency in Civil 3D and other relevant design software
Excellent stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills
A clear understanding of health & safety legislation relevant to infrastructure projects
