Tradewind is currently seeking a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant for a Hospital School in Camden. This full-time position is available immediately, with the potential for long-term engagement until the end of the academic year, and a possibility of permanency for the right candidate.

The Hospital School in Haringey boasts an Outstanding Ofsted rating and caters to students with statements of severe mental health needs, who have encountered difficulties in mainstream education. These pupils often contend with issues such as Anxiety, Depression, Suicidal Thoughts, Self-Harm, Eating Disorders, and may have additional diagnoses of Autism and ADHD. The school focuses on providing education for vulnerable children aged 11 to 16 on a short-term basis, aiming to facilitate their reintegration into mainstream schooling.

As a Teaching Assistant, you must be adaptable to the changing needs of the students, working with different individuals based on daily requirements, creating a dynamic and stimulating environment. Essential requirements for the role include:

Previous experience supporting young people with mental health difficulties.
Prior experience as a Teaching Assistant (TA), Learning Support Assistant (LSA), or in a similar support role within a school, Pupil Referral Unit (PRU), Alternative Provision, or related child-focused setting.
