Reed Education are proud to be working with a highly respected specialist SEN school on the Cambridgeshire/Hertfordshire border. The school provides an exceptional, fully personalised learning environment for children and young people aged 6 to 19 with a wide range of complex needs, including:

  • Profound & Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD)
  • Moderate & Severe Learning Disabilities (MLD & SLD)

The school is recognised for its inclusive approach, outstanding facilities including a Hydrotherapy Pool and extensive outdoor learning area and its on-site multidisciplinary therapeutic team who work closely with class staff to deliver a child-centred curriculum.

The Role

As an SEN Teacher, you will deliver high-quality, engaging and meaningful learning experiences, adapted to meet the individual needs of students with complex learning profiles. You will contribute to a fully personalised curriculum designed to stretch, challenge and inspire every learner.

Working alongside class leaders, therapists and support staff, you will help create a safe, inclusive and stimulating environment where students can thrive and prepare for adulthood.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality, tailored lessons that meet individual learning needs.
  • Foster an engaging, supportive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Work collaboratively with therapists, class leaders and other professionals.
  • Contribute to curriculum development to ensure it meets diverse learner needs.
  • Lead and manage classroom support staff effectively.
  • Assess, track and report on pupil progress with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Participate in physical intervention and personal care routines where required.

What We’re Looking For

  • PGCE, QTS or equivalent teaching qualification (essential)
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development.
  • Strong understanding of the Teacher Standards.
  • Experience or knowledge of SEN, especially sensory-led and complex-needs curriculums.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead, guide and support other adults in the classroom.
  • Reflective, resilient and dedicated to improving outcomes for young people.
