As Warehouse & International Shipping, you play a crucial role in the company's supply chain, ensuring the efficient and compliant movement of goods both domestically and internationally. This fast-paced role involves both hands-on warehouse operations and essential administrative tasks related to global logistics, customs, and trade regulations.
International shipping and dispatch experience required
- Experience with UK and International deliveries and shipping
- Accurately pick, pack, and prepare orders for national and international dispatch, ensuring secure packaging to prevent damage during transit.
- Weigh and measure packages to determine shipping costs and ensure compliance with carrier requirements.
- Coordinate with freight forwarders, shipping lines, and various carriers to schedule pickups and deliveries.
- Load and unload delivery vehicles safely using appropriate manual handling methods or equipment (e.g., forklifts/pallet jacks if certified).
- Prepare and process essential shipping and customs documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and certificates of origin.
- Ensure all documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with current international trade regulations.
- Assist with customs clearance procedures and resolve any documentation discrepancies or shipment delays in coordination with relevant parties.
- Maintain accurate electronic and physical records of all shipped orders and customs documentation for audit purposes.
- Receive, inspect, and process incoming goods, verifying items against purchase orders and reporting any discrepancies or damages.
- Manage stock levels, perform regular inventory checks, and assist with cycle counting to maintain inventory accuracy.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised warehouse environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
- Proven experience in a warehouse, shipping, or logistics role is essential.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy are crucial for documentation and inventory management.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise a varied workload and meet tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel, Word, and Outlook); experience with an ERP system or shipping software is a plus.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for liaising with carriers, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a dynamic team.
