PURPOSE OF ROLE

Lawes are working  with a well-established and expanding Insurance Broker to recruit an experienced Account Executive to join their commercial team. This role offers the opportunity to manage a substantial portfolio of clients while driving new business opportunities and contributing to the team's continued growth. You will provide exceptional client service by managing and growing a diverse commercial portfolio, building strong relationships, and delivering effective risk and protection solutions.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage a portfolio of clients, overseeing renewals, adjustments and day-to-day servicing
  • Identify opportunities for growth, both within existing accounts and through new business development and cross-selling
  • Maintain compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements
  • Support and contribute to a collaborative team environment
  • Work effectively with a team of Account Handlers and maintain regular communication with them

DAY-TO-DAY

  • Meeting with clients across the Northwest area
  • Handling client queries and providing timely, professional advice
  • Preparing and presenting renewal terms and recommendations
  • Monitoring market developments to ensure clients receive the most suitable solutions
  • Supporting junior colleagues and sharing technical knowledge

EXPERIENCE

  • Proven background in managing commercial clients within a professional services environment
  • Track record of business development and client retention
  • Experience of working with a broad range of industry sectors
  • Understanding of compliance, governance, and industry regulations

SKILLS

  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively
  • Commercially astute with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset
  • Competence with industry systems (Acturis experience advantageous but not essential)
