We’re on the hunt for a Volunteer Cook to join us in our rehabilitation service / ABI (Acquired Brain Injury) service Markham House in Bolsover, Chesterfield This service is a welcoming and friendly environment with a dynamic team that supports a fantastic group of people!
As a cook with us you'll be enhancing the quality of life of the people we support through the preparation and cooking of nutritious, balanced meals. Our Chefs / Cooks are the backbone of the kitchen, ensuring that the people we support are offered balanced, nutritious meals that promote their health and wellbeing. Not only will you be cooking and preparing these meals, but you will also be producing meal plans, ensuring the kitchen is cleaned to a high standard, checking in kitchen deliveries and stock take, working closely alongside other kitchen colleagues and working closely with our colleagues that provide support to help them further enhance the people we support’s independent living skills.

We’re interested in our Cooks having both the right experience and the right values. This is why at this service our cooks should have previous experience working in a catering/kitchen environment, experience working in health and social care, experience leading a kitchen team and relevant qualifications and understanding of food hygiene regulations.
Would need to have experience in cooking for a large group of people and experience in food hygiene. To provide nutritious meals for the people we support ensuring food is fresh and within budget. To ensure health, safety and enviroment hygiene standards are achieved.
