Salary: £26,416/annum (based on 40 hrs/week) £12.70/hr. (Plus sleep in allowance of £65 per night)

Start date: June 2024

Location: Oldham (OL4)

Hours: Shift pattern on rota basis (40 hours per week)

We are looking for a number of experienced and dedicated Residential Support Workers to work within a brand new children's home opening in the Oldham area.

The Home offers specialised residential care and support for children up to the age of 18 years with Learning Disabilities (LD) and/or autism, who may also present with behaviours that challenge.

The Home:

  • The Home is located close to public transport links and easily accessible within the Oldham area.
  • It is a fantastic home for the children to grow, develop and meet their best outcomes.
  • A brand-new sensory room had been installed for the children and young people. The home is dedicated to meeting the individuals needs of all the children it supports.
  • 4 bed home for children with LD, Autism and challenging behaviours.

The position:

  • You will be part of a brand-new team, working together to create a safe and loving home from home environment for the children and young people.
  • Be expected to provide 24-hour care and support for all the children living at the home.
  • Personal care may be required, depending on the individual needs of the child.
  • Must be willing to work night shifts and be available on call as and when required.

Requirements:

  • Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare or equivalent desirable.
  • 2 Years relevant experience supporting children and young people with additional needs.
  • Willingness to work towards a Level 3 Diploma in residential Childcare is essential, support will be provided.
  • Complete all mandatory training, which includes team teach level 2 if you are successful.
  • Prior experience and understanding of behaviours that challenge is essential.
  • You must have a fully enhanced DBS on the update service. If you do not currently have a DBS, then we can help with your application for a new DBS.
  • Prior experience working with children with SEN such as Autism and Learning Disabilities as well as challenging behaviours, is essential.
  • You will be subject to all relevant checks to comply with the law and safer recruitment guidelines and provide all relevant documentation.
