Salary: (£34,314 - £37,938 per annum , pro rata)
We are seeking a compassionate, proactive, and dedicated Safeguarding and Welfare Officer to join our committed team and help ensure the safety, well-being, and emotional support of every child in our care.
About the Role:As our Safeguarding and Welfare Officer, you will play a crucial role in all aspects of safeguarding practices across the school. Working closely with the Senior Leadership Team, you will be a trusted point of contact for pupils, staff, and families, and will help to create a safe, supportive environment where every child feels valued and able to thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead
- Maintain accurate, confidential safeguarding records
- Liaise with external agencies, including social care and health professionals
- Provide support and early intervention to children and families in need
- Promote a culture of safeguarding across the school
- Monitor attendance and work with families to ensure high levels of pupil engagement
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience working in a safeguarding or pastoral role, preferably within a school or education setting
- Excellent knowledge of child protection and safeguarding policies and procedures
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle sensitive issues with discretion and professionalism
- A calm, empathetic and supportive approach to working with children and families
