Our client, a leading provider of engineering solutions in the rail and water sectors, is currently seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join their team on a contract basis. This role involves the design of UMON 3 and 4 upgrades for sewage treatment works nationwide, clean water main replacements, and rail drainage for HS2 projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide design deliverables that meet safety and quality standards
Identify and communicate efficient design solutions from scopes and site visits to clients and project teams
Direct and develop CAD technicians as well as junior designers and graduates
Prepare design risk assessments, reports, and specifications
Ensure compliance with relevant technical, professional, and water company standards
Implement and record project changes for design packages
Undertake work using formal processes and procedures
Estimate hours required for design packages and present designs at ALM, KM meetings and similar

Job Requirements:

Experience in the water and rail industry, ideally with both clean and dirty water
Graduate, HND, or significant experience at Technician level
Proficiency in IT and knowledge of engineering drawing practices
Awareness of construction methods and materials
Registered with a professional body and working towards chartership
Strong technical knowledge and problem-solving skills
Effective communication skills and a results-focused attitude
Ability to develop self and others in a technical discipline

Preferred Qualifications:

Chartered engineer status
10 years of relevant design experience in the water and rail industry
