* An established and profitable engineering and manufacturing business is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join its growing team.

* Work on a diverse range of products, including plant equipment, materials handling systems, precision-engineered components, and electromechanical solutions.

* An ideal role for a Design Engineer who enjoys innovative design, problem-solving, and design for manufacture (DFM) in a hands-on engineering environment.

* Salary commensurate with experience, 25 days holiday plus all bank holidays, company pension, early finish on a Friday.

This Mechanical Design Engineer job will suit:

* A Design Engineer with a background in Mechanical Engineering or Electromechanical Engineering.

* Experience in product or equipment design (any of the following is beneficial):

* Fabrication design.

* Hydraulics or pneumatics.

* Capital equipment or plant machinery.

* Materials handling systems.

* Strong experience with 3D CAD (SolidWorks advantageous).

* A proactive problem-solver who enjoys engineering challenges.

* Qualified to HNC / HND / Degree level (or equivalent experience/apprenticeship).

This Mechanical Design Engineer job will involve:

* Design and develop mechanical and electromechanical products.

* Create detailed 3D CAD models and drawings using SolidWorks.

* Work on both new product development and existing product improvements.

* Apply design for manufacture (DFM) principles.

* Conduct or support FEA / stress analysis (training available).

* Solve engineering challenges and propose effective technical solutions.

* Provide technical support to customers when required.
