Reed Education are supporting a wonderful SEMH School in Woking - which is an independent specialist school dedicated to providing high-quality, therapeutic, and child-centred education for pupils aged 11 to 17 with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs. Our school environment is both challenging and rewarding, offering extensive training and support to our staff.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Support teachers in the classroom and work directly with children either one-on-one or in small groups.
  • Manage classroom resources and engage in activities such as organising trips, managing social lunch settings, and handling heightened behaviours.
  • Participate in a variety of educational activities, from playing board games and conducting science experiments to creating displays and celebrating student success.
  • Be actively involved in therapy sessions and reflective practices to support the emotional and educational development of our students.
  • Contribute to decision-making processes that influence both academic and extracurricular programs, bringing personal interests and passions to enhance the school's offerings.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience and understanding of working with children with SEMH and other special educational needs such as Autism and ADHD.
  • Resilience, persistence, and a solution-focused attitude, capable of wearing multiple hats and adapting quickly to the needs of our children.
  • Strong communication skills and a non-judgmental approach, with the ability to provide consistent and flexible support.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development and learning in a therapeutic and attachment-informed educational setting.
