ATEX Project Engineer Lancashire £30,000 - £47,000 + Overtime + 25 days holiday The Company My client employs 2100 globally with a $300 million turnover. They are private equity owned with plans to grow to $600 million in the next five years and $1 Billion long term. They have operations in UK, Europe, China and USA. 1400 of the staff are based in America We are currently working with the ATEX division of the business who provide specialist testing services into the Military, Oil Gas, Pharmaceutical and many other markets. They Lancashire laboratory employs circa 30 staff and focusses on Flame Proof Testing, Explosion Testing and Safety Testing and has doubled in size of the last four years. Due to the expansion into new markets they require an ATEX project engineer who will be responsible for writing and managing test procedures and ensuring clients requirements are met. If you have worked with or have a good understanding of ATEX standards IEX60079 or EN13463 or aspire for a move into ATEX role, please apply online for immediate consideration. The Role The role of the ATEX Project Engineer will involve carrying out flameproof and mechanical product testing to ensure it complies to ATEX regulations. These tests involve placing the product in a gaseous environment and testing that it is explosion proof as well as mechanical testing of key components in products that create heat to ensure they are not ignition risks. Products being tested could include electric motors, windings, gearboxes or conveyors which are then placed in a contained environment and tests under laboratory conditions. You will be fully responsible for all ATEX testing initially taking the product specification and the ATEX standards it needs to comply to before setting up and then running the test. Commonly the customer will be on site during testing so you will be required to keep the customer informed on testing progress. The Candidate To be successful in the role of ATEX Project Engineer you will need: Knowledge of ATEX standards, this exposure could be within a design, test engineering, commissioning or project background. An engineering qualification circa HNC or above. Be happy to liaise closely with customers. some of the projects could last up to 6 months so building good relationships is key. Commutable to the site in Lancashire or happy to relocate to the area.
