Fleet Contract Manager

London, UK
Apply Now

Company: FORD & STANLEY SELECT

Job Type: Permanent, FullTime

Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 per annum

Fleet Contract Manager | Kent/London (Hybrid) | up to £60,000 | Permanent

The Opportunity

Are you a technical engineer with a sharp eye for detail, looking to transition from the "shop floor" to the boardroom?

We are partnering with a major rail operator to find two Fleet Contract Managers who possess a unique blend of engineering "DNA" and commercial curiosity. This isn't your standard legal-heavy procurement role. Instead, we are looking for technical authorities who can bridge the gap between complex engineering investigations and the contractual frameworks that govern them.

You will act as a trusted advisor, translating fleet performance data and technical modifications into robust commercial agreements (ROSCO leases and side letters). If you are looking for a role where you can put your "stamp" on a function and lead the evolution of a fleet, this is it.

Responsibilities
  • Engineering-Led Contract Management: Negotiate and review Rolling Stock leases and maintenance amendments through a "technical lens" to ensure fleet performance objectives are met.

  • Commercial Relationship Management: Act as the primary commercial link between the business, ROSCOs, and engineering suppliers.

  • Technical Investigations: Collaborate with Engineering Managers to identify risks and opportunities, translating technical issues into contractual outputs.

  • Asset Management Support: Advise on contractual frameworks, warranties, and performance regimes to protect the business's assets.

  • Financial Control: Manage Oracle purchase requisitions and sales orders, ensuring rigorous financial oversight of engineering contracts.

  • Project Leadership: Provide commercial expertise to wider company modification projects, justifying business cases for new requirements.

The Candidate

We are seeking individuals with an "Engineering First" mindset. You don't need to be a lawyer, our client can teach you the complex legalities, but you must have the technical authority to challenge what "looks off" from an engineering perspective.

  • Technical Foundation: A strong mechanical engineering background is essential. You should be IMechE accredited or actively working towards it.

  • The "Technical Investigator": Experience in writing technical reports, managing fleet modification documentation, and conducting investigations is vital.

  • The "Contractual Lens": You possess the confidence to interrogate a contract to ensure it reflects the technical reality of the fleet.

  • Interpersonal Agility: You are as comfortable discussing engineering schematics with technicians as you are presenting a commercial business case to the Board.

Location
  • Hybrid working between Kent sites, London offices and remote.
Salary

Up to £60,000 (Depending on experience)
