Are you a recent graduate with a passion for supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? Do you want to start a rewarding career in education and make a positive impact on students' learning and development?

GSL Education are currently recruiting for SEND Graduate Teaching Assistants to join Special Educational Needs Schools in Lincoln. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates looking to gain practical experience in education while supporting students with a wide range of SEND needs, including Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, learning difficulties, and speech and language needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Support students with SEND on a 1:1 or small group basis in both primary and secondary school settings

Assist the class teacher with adapting lesson plans and resources to meet the needs of individual students

Help students with personal development, social skills, and emotional regulation

Foster an inclusive classroom environment that promotes participation and engagement

Work alongside the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to implement tailored learning strategies

Assist with behavioural management and provide pastoral support as required

Essential Requirements:

Degree in a relevant subject (e.g., Psychology, Education, Sociology, Child Development, Special Educational Needs)

Passion for working with children and young people with SEND

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Enthusiastic and proactive with a positive attitude towards supporting students with additional needs

A desire to work in education long-term and develop your career in the SEND sector

A DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)

Desirable:

Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND (e.g., as a volunteer, during placements, or in other roles)

Knowledge of SEND strategies and interventions

Experience working with behaviour management or supporting students with SEMH needs
