Teaching Assistant – Ellesmere Port

What the role involves

• Supporting teachers with the delivery of engaging lessons and activities across the curriculum.
• Providing general classroom support, helping pupils stay focused and confident in their learning.
• Working with small groups or individual pupils to reinforce key concepts and offer additional guidance.
• Encouraging positive behaviour and contributing to a calm, welcoming classroom atmosphere.
• Assisting with classroom organisation, preparation of learning resources and day-to-day routines.
• Supporting the inclusion of all pupils, including those who may require additional help.
• Following safeguarding procedures and promoting the wellbeing of every child in your care.

What we’re looking for

• Experience working with children or young people is helpful — but we also welcome applicants from care, youth work, coaching or support backgrounds.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• A patient, friendly and proactive approach to supporting learning.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and show initiative when needed.
• A genuine interest in education and helping young people achieve their best.

An Enhanced DBS Check is required for this role, or you must be willing to obtain one.
