An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a leading organisation in the entertainment sector, supporting creative and cultural initiatives across the UK. We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Assistant Management Accountant to join the finance team on a one-year fixed term contract to cover a maternity leave.

This role plays a key part in supporting the financial health of the organisation by delivering essential budgeting, management accounting, forecasting, and grant reporting services. The successful candidate will work closely with internal stakeholders up to Director level, across various departments, including those without financial backgrounds, to ensure informed financial decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of accurate and timely management accounts.
  • Act as a financial business partner to operational teams, helping to monitor and control costs.
  • Support the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes, including data analysis and reporting.
  • Maintain and update grant tracking tools and prepare related reports.
  • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations (e.g., prepayments, accruals, control accounts).
  • Contribute to ad-hoc financial analysis projects, including variance and cost-benefit analyses.
  • Assist in the management of fundraising and grant application timelines.
  • Support grant income recognition, restricted fund reporting, and cash flow forecasting.

Person Specification

Knowledge & Experience

  • Experience in either a commercial or not-for-profit/charity finance environment.
  • Part-qualified in CIMA, ACCA, or equivalent.
  • Strong accounting knowledge and confident working with financial systems and Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
  • Proven commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion in the workplace.

  • Strong financial modelling and advanced Excel skills.
  • Effective communicator, capable of explaining financial information to non-finance colleagues.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Analytical mindset and self-motivated, with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Organised, with good prioritisation and time management capabilities.
  • Eager to engage in continued professional development.

The contract will ideally begin at the end of August/beginning of September. The benefits package includes a generous holiday allowance (28 days plus Bank holidays and Christmas closure), free and/or discounted tickets to events and products on offer, a generous pension contribution as well as flexible and hybrid working with 1-2 days per week required in the central London office.
