Prospero Teaching is proud to be working with a dedicated special school in Fareham, who are seeking a committed Specialist Intervention & Higher-Level Teaching Assistant to join their team from January 2026.

This role sits within the school's specialist provision, supporting students aged 7-16 with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs and associated complex challenges. It's a chance to make a genuine difference in the lives of young people who need a safe, supportive environment to thrive.

About the Provision

This unique programme helps students reconnect with learning through a child‑centred approach built on trust, relationships, and personal growth. It offers an alternative to mainstream education, creating a space where pupils feel valued, understood, and encouraged to succeed.

We welcome applications from experienced LSAs/TAs, as well as those with backgrounds in psychology, therapeutic support, coaching, or life skills development. Prior experience working 1:1 with pupils is highly desirable.

About the Role

Location: Fareham

Start Date: January 2026

Contract Type: Full‑time

Pay Rate: £23,000 - £28,000 per annum

Hours: 8:30 am - 3:30 pm (subject to variation)

We're looking for someone who:

Has experience working 1:1 with pupils, supporting both academic and personal development

Brings knowledge from psychology, therapy, coaching, or life skills training to enrich student support

Is passionate about helping young people rebuild trust in adults and education

Thrives on building meaningful relationships with pupils who may have disengaged from traditional schooling

Is flexible, proactive, and ready to provide personalised support when needed

Understands safeguarding and promotes a safe, inclusive learning environment

What You'll Need to Apply

An enhanced child‑barred list DBS certificate registered on the update service (or willingness to apply for one)
