Child Development Associate (CDA) required. An Associate of Arts Degree or Bachelor’s degree preferred. Three (3) to five (5) years of progressive experience working with toddlers, in a licensed early childhood environment required. Demonstrated experience in developmentally appropriate practices, progressive curriculums, planning and implementing lesson plans, assessments and child outcome management strongly preferred. Knowledge of Infant Toddler Environmental Rating Scales, ITERS, and DC Child Care Regulations required. Knowledge of DC Early Learning Standards, COA Standards NAEYC Guidelines, strongly preferred. Strong ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks successfully. Effective and strong communication skills (orally and written). High level of commitment to, and enthusiasm for, promotion of NCCFD’s mission. Ability and enthusiasm for working with staff at all levels of the organization in a collaborative team approach.

NCCFD is a nationally accredited program that provides high quality, early childhood development services to children 6 weeks to 5 years of age at the Carver Terrace Early Child Development Center located at 2229 M Street, NE in Ward 5. The 12,000 square foot has the capacity for 100 children and operates 11 hours per day. We offer a nurturing and safe environment for children with a structured curriculum, qualified and experienced teachers, a year -round program and nutritious meals.
