About the Role

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed History Teacher to join our Humanities Department on a full-time maternity cover basis starting as soon as possible.

This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate educator to inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and potentially Key Stage 5, depending on experience), delivering engaging and challenging lessons that foster curiosity, critical thinking and a strong understanding of the past.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver high-quality History lessons in line with the national curriculum

Assess, monitor and track student progress, providing clear feedback to support achievement

Contribute to curriculum development within the Humanities faculty

Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment

Support the wider life of the school through enrichment and extracurricular activities

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

A strong subject knowledge and passion for History

The ability to motivate and challenge students of all abilities

Excellent classroom management skills

A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people
