Commissioning Engineer - Automation & Robotics
£45-50 per hour | 6-Month Contract | Outside IR35
Wolverhampton | Site-Based (No Hybrid / Remote Working)

We're looking for an experienced Commissioning Engineer to join a project team working on automation and robotic machinery for a major industrial installation.

This is a 6-month contract, Outside IR35, offering long hours and solid continuity for the right contractor. The role is fully site-based in Wolverhampton and will require regular on-site presence throughout the contract.

The Role

Commissioning of automated and robotic systems on-site

*

PLC commissioning and software development using Siemens TIA Portal

*

Fault finding, testing, and system optimisation during commissioning phases

*

Working closely with mechanical, electrical, and controls teams

*

Supporting site acceptance testing and handover

Key Skills & Experience

*

Proven experience commissioning automation and robotic machinery

*

Strong PLC experience with Siemens TIA Portal

*

Comfortable with both commissioning and software modifications/development

*

Able to work independently on-site and hit commissioning deadlines

*

Industrial automation background (material handling, robotics, special purpose machinery, etc.)
