About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanical Engineer to join a dynamic engineering team, reporting to the Engineering Shift Leader. Working within a small, collaborative team, you will be responsible for delivering preventative and reactive maintenance to ensure the smooth operation of production facilities. This role offers a 3-shift rotating system (Monday-Friday with an early finish on Fridays) and the opportunity to contribute to continuous improvement projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Key Responsibilities

* Perform preventative maintenance (PMIs) and reactive maintenance on mechanical systems and production equipment.

* Conduct fault finding and diagnostics on hydraulic and pneumatic circuits, using schematic drawings.

* Apply fabrication and machining skills to repair and maintain equipment.

* Carry out safety checks on moving machinery to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.

* Execute tool changes and PMIs (fork truck driver certification is advantageous).

* Maintain facility services and equipment, including boilers, compressors, pumps, air handling units, and extraction fans.

* Support small installation projects and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

* Assist the Electrical Team with maintenance tasks as required.

Essential Skills & Experience

* Minimum 5 years' experience in plant maintenance within a manufacturing or industrial environment.

* Strong fault-finding skills on hydraulic and pneumatic systems, with the ability to interpret schematic drawings.

* Proven fabrication and machining skills for equipment repairs.

* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively within a team.

* Willingness to undertake training to enhance skills and meet business needs.

* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, shift-based environment.

Qualifications

* Relevant mechanical engineering qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3, HNC, or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering).

* Fork truck driver certification is desirable but not essential
