We are recruiting an EDM Operator & Programmer for our reputable client (permanent position)

Location: Chippenham, Wiltshire

Salary: Competitive (DOE)

Hours: Monday–Thursday 8:00am–5:00pm, Friday 8:00am–1:00pm

Overtime: Available

Eligibility: Must be eligible to work in the UK

Role: EDM Operator & Programmer

About our Client:

A well-established precision engineering company, operating from modern facilities with a strong order book. They specialise in high precision components for demanding sectors. They are now seeking an experienced EDM Operator & Programmer to join their skilled team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Program, set and operate EDM sparking and wire machines
• Produce precision components to tight tolerances
• Work from engineering drawings, including geometric tolerances
• Carry out first-off and in-process inspections
• Set machine parameters to optimise performance
• Maintain accurate production and inspection records
• Troubleshoot machine and process issues
• Keep machines and work areas clean and organised (5S)
• Follow job packs and complete operations as required
• Report progress and issues to the Cell Lead

Requirements:

• Proven experience as an EDM Setter, Operator or Programmer
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
• Experience working with precision components
• Knowledge of machining various materials (e.g. stainless, duplex, nickel alloys)
• Good attention to detail and ability to work to tight tolerances
• Basic IT skills for data entry and record keeping
• Able to work independently and as part of a team

Desirable:

• Experience with Sodick machines or programming
• Background in precision engineering environments
