Job Opportunity: Registered Manager - EBD Children's Care Home

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily operations of an EBD (Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties) children’s care home, supporting up to 3 children/young people.

  • Manage day-to-day activities to ensure smooth functioning of the home.

  • Lead, support, and facilitate both medium to long-term placements and emergency care for children, maximizing resources while promoting meaningful engagement.

  • Achieve and document positive outcomes for children, ensuring their needs are met.

  • Ensure compliance with the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015.

  • Maintain adherence to Ofsted registration requirements and inspection standards.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management in Residential Children’s Services (or equivalent qualification).

  • Proven experience as a Registered Manager in a residential care setting.

Considered Candidates Will Have:

  • Ongoing commitment to complete or working towards the Level 5 Diploma in Health and Social Care within the next 2 years.

  • Experience as a Deputy Manager in a residential care setting, particularly in senior roles within a children’s home.

Additional Requirements:

  • In-depth understanding of safeguarding and child welfare.

  • Familiarity with the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015.

  • Knowledge of the Ofsted Regulatory Framework for Children’s Homes.

  • Strong awareness of children’s home procedures and regulatory compliance.

  • Experience in budget management.

  • Competence in reasoning, numeracy, literacy, and IT.

  • Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team and across agencies.

  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, and management skills.

  • Ability to mentor and support the professional development of others.

  • Experience liaising with Ofsted during inspections.

  • Enhanced DBS check.
