Salary: £22000 - £25000/annum bonus, hybrid, parking

The Business & Opportunity:

A new opportunity has been created to join an established and growing business based on the North side of York. Operating within the property sector, they manage an impressive portfolio of manly commercial properties, with a very small amount of residential. Specialising in Commercial Property, Asset Management, Facilities Management, Agency and Professional Services across the UK, they pride themselves in providing their clients with a high level of service.

You will be part of a small team, taking responsibility for a wide range of accounting tasks.


Your remit will include:

* Service Charge and other invoices relating to the Property Portfolio.

* Coding, payment and recording of purchase invoices relating to the various managed properties.

* Update of daily book-keeping records in respect of bank accounts and service charge accounts with daily bank reconciliations.

* Preparation of VAT returns to HM Customs and Excise and quarterly reconciliations to clients.

* Reporting and payment of quarterly rental income to owners.

* Preparation and reconciliation of annual service charges and on account utilities within 4 months of the financial year end.

* Liaising with utility providers (i.e. gas, water and electricity) and other service providers.

* Credit Control.

* Operation of online Property Management package. Daily input - Bank, Purchase and Rent Ledgers

Ideal Skills & Experience:

* Likely to have worked within an SME, with experience in a varied accounts capacity.

* Experience with manual cash books and bank reconciliations, together with a knowledge of basic accounting principles.

* Open to either part-qualified AAT, ACCA, CIMA or those who haven't chosen the exam route.

* Competent user of MS Office Products. Sage and Access will be useful, but by no means a pre-requisite.

* Although experience from the property sector would be advantageous, candidates with experience from any sector are welcome.

* Excellent communicator who is comfortable liaising with clients, and will thrive in a small, but dynamic working environment.
