Gap Personnel (operating as an employment business) are currently recruiting for a Site Buyer on a permanent basis for our client based in Telford.

Monday - Thursday 8:30am - 5pm

Friday 8:30am - 4pm

Job Summary as Site Buyer

As a Site Buyer, you will work in close collaboration with both internal stakeholders and external partners, upholding the principles of the CIPS Code of Conduct. Your role will focus on negotiating and managing procurement contracts that deliver optimal value in terms of time, cost, and quality. You will ensure the seamless supply of goods and services to support operational needs, enabling the client to consistently exceed customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities as a Site Buyer

Provide suppliers with accurate forecasts aligned with customer demand.
Develop and manage lean supply contracts in line with group policies.
Monitor supplier performance against Time, Cost and Quality targets.
Facilitate strong communication between internal teams and suppliers.
Meet and exceed purchase price targets through cost reduction initiatives.
Continuously evaluate pricing, specifications and market competitiveness.
Identify and deliver material cost savings through innovation.
Lead supplier value analysis and cost reduction programs.
Build and maintain long-term supplier partnerships.
Ensure supplier compliance through regular audits and reviews.
Manage and communicate specification changes effectively.
Support supplier education and continuous improvement initiatives.
Act as key user and support improvements in SAP S4 Hana.
Identify and implement system and process enhancements in procurement.
Comply with all Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality policies.
Ensure consistent adherence to company and legislative standards.

Qualifications & Skills as a Site Buyer

We're looking for a proactive and commercially minded professional with strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of building effective relationships at all levels.

Key Requirements:

Proven experience in a similar purchasing role within a manufacturing environment, ideally in the flexographic printing industry.
Demonstrated success in managing projects and delivering cost-saving initiatives without compromising service or quality.
Strong commercial awareness with a strategic, dynamic, and adaptable approach to changing market conditions.

Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Able to communicate clearly across functions, both verbally and in writing.
