Automotive Process Leader

SALARY: £26 - £28/hour

My client is the one of the world's most luxurious automotive OEM's currently experiencing an upturn in profitability. They seek a New Product Creation Process Leader to join them on a long-term, on-going contract basis. Job Purpose Expert leader in the development of best practice engineering process and lead the introduction of New Product Creation Process. Key Responsibilities and Tasks * Develop and continually improve the engineering processes and schedules required to develop vehicles, platforms, advanced and modular technologies covering both 'Virtual' and 'Physical' phases of development. * Create the standard master reference schedules for different scales of development. This will include all required decision milestones and judgement criteria. * Build and ensure the robust connection and alignment to the processes of all other related areas of business required to ensure smooth and efficient delivery of projects. * Support and advise the projects Chief Vehicle Engineers in the use of best practice for the creation of specific vehicle development schedules. * Ensure the competitiveness of New Product Creation Process through benchmarking and reflect changes in technology to drive updates through the company. * Be the leader and expert of the Company's New Product Creation Process, working with relevant functions to ensure the required certification and validation. * Work closely with the Engineering Administration team to ensure the appropriate performance and delivery measures are developed and implemented in order to support project delivery of the CVEs. Qualifications and Experience * Degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Aeronautical Engineering or similar * Substantial experience in Automotive Vehicle Development as a design or development engineer. * Experience in Digital/Virtual simulation technologies as enablers of vehicle development. * Understand Parts/Systems development schedules and requirements in the supply base and the relationship to Vehicle Development schedules. * Prepared and implemented schedules for development of Systems and Vehicles or Powertrains * Analysing existing processes and implementing improvements. * Analytical mind, capable of reviewing and assessing complex situations systematically and conveying the result in simple terms. * Pragmatic, able to relate to real world situations and capabilities of the wider team. * Ability to work cross-functionally and negotiate successfully with members of manufacturing, procurement, design, programme planning and Chief Vehicle Engineers.
