Wade Macdonald are currently partnering with a well-established and growing organisation to recruit an Interim Financial Controller for a 6–9 month assignment.

This is a key role within the finance function, responsible for leading financial control and management accounting, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of reporting, and supporting senior stakeholders with high-quality financial insight.

The RoleReporting into the Finance Director, you will take ownership of the financial control environment and lead a small team, ensuring timely and accurate reporting across the business. Responsibilities will include:

• Leading month-end and quarter-end close processes
• Ensuring balance sheet integrity and reviewing reconciliations
• Overseeing financial reporting, including board-level outputs
• Managing the audit process and liaising with external auditors
• Supporting cash flow forecasting and working capital management
• Reviewing regulatory and statutory reporting requirements
• Driving process improvements to enhance controls and efficiency
• Leading, mentoring, and developing a small finance team

The Candidate

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA)
• Strong technical accounting knowledge (FRS 102 / IFRS)
• Proven experience in a Financial Controller or similar role
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
• Experience managing audits and working in a controlled environment
• Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to hit the ground running
