A well-established, human-focused engineering consultancy is seeking a Principal or Associate Electrical Engineer to join their multidisciplinary team in Reading. This senior, client-facing role involves delivering complex projects across commercial, residential, and mission-critical sectors while mentoring junior engineers and supporting the wider team.

The Role

The successful candidate will:

* Lead and deliver electrical design services for multi-disciplinary projects of varying size and complexity

* Develop initial strategic concepts, ensuring solutions meet briefs and regulatory standards

* Work closely with clients, contractors, and architects to translate briefs into deliverable designs

* Monitor project resources, fees, and outputs alongside team leadership

* Support and mentor apprentices, graduates, and junior engineers

* Contribute to repeat and new business opportunities, ensuring high-quality, profitable delivery

Candidate Profile

* Proven experience as an Electrical Engineer or in a related consultant role, delivering complex projects

* Proficient in technical delivery processes and software such as BIM, Revit, Electrical OM, Dialux, and Relux

* Strong client-facing experience with the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively

* Collaborative, self-aware, and open-minded

* Experience in supporting the development of others within a team
