Job Description:

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Children's Residential Support Worker to provide 1:1 night-time support to a child in a small residential home. This is a temporary role offering full-time hours on night shifts.

You will be responsible for supporting a child who struggles with sleep and may present with emotional or behavioural challenges. Your key role will be to ensure they feel safe, secure, and supported during the night, helping to settle them when distressed and maintaining a calm, nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 emotional and practical support throughout the night

• Respond calmly and effectively to any distress or disruption

• Monitor and record the child’s well-being during your shift

• Work closely with the day team to ensure consistency of care

• Adhere to safeguarding procedures and care plans

Requirements:

• Previous experience supporting children in a residential or similar care setting

• Ability to manage challenging behaviour with a calm, reassuring approach

• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to obtain one)

• Reliable, patient, and empathetic nature
