We are looking for a reliable and hands-on Warehouse Operative to support the smooth running of their warehouse operations. You’ll be responsible for receiving, storing, picking, and dispatching fibre network equipment and materials, ensuring accurate stock control and a safe working environment.
A valid Counterbalance and/or Reach Forklift Licence is essential for this position.
Pay: £13ph+ Overtime available on weekends (time and a half on Sat, double time on Sun)
Type: Temporary to permanent
Hours: Mon-Fri 07:30 to 16:00, 37.5 hours per week
Location: Swindon, travel to Oxford on occasion- transport provided
Start date: ASAP
Key Responsibilities
- Receive deliveries, check quantities, and report any discrepancies.
- Safely operate forklift trucks (Counterbalance/Reach) to unload, move, and store stock.
- Pick, pack, and prepare orders for engineers and field teams.
- Maintain accurate stock records using warehouse systems and handheld scanners.
- Support regular stock takes and cycle counts.
- Ensure all materials are stored correctly and safely.
- Work closely with logistics, field teams, and suppliers to ensure smooth operations.
- Keep warehouse areas clean, tidy, and compliant with health & safety procedures.
- Assist with loading/unloading vehicles and preparing outgoing deliveries.
Skills & Experience Required
- Valid forklift licence (Counterbalance, Reach, or both).
- Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment.
- Confident in manual handling and operating warehouse equipment.
- Good attention to detail and accuracy.
- Comfortable using stock control systems or handheld scanners.
- Strong team player with a positive, proactive approach.
- Ability to work to deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
