SuperCare is looking for an experienced, confident, and compassionate Night Team Leader to join our children's residential homes. In this role, you will lead a small pod of night support workers, ensuring high-quality, consistent care for young people with autism, ADHD, epilepsy, and severe learning disabilities. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong leadership skills who is looking to progress into a Deputy Manager role.

This role offers flexibility across all our homes in East Sussex, ideal for someone looking to develop leadership skills across a range of complex care specialities. Alternatively, you can choose to specialise in a single home. You'll gain experience in different settings, support diverse needs, and further develop your expertise in managing and mentoring night staff teams.

As a Night Team Leader, you will lead by example, promoting best practice and trauma-informed, child-centred care, while supporting both young people and staff throughout the night.


Requirements
  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or young person equivalent) - essential

  • Proven experience in a residential childcare setting with night shift experience - essential

  • Strong leadership and communication skills - essential

  • Full UK driving licence - important


What You'll Do
Leadership & Staff Management
  • Lead a small pod of night support workers, providing guidance, support, and mentoring.

  • Model best practice, safe, and trauma-informed approaches.

  • Support staff in managing challenging behaviours and provide reassurance during incidents.

  • Ensure safeguarding, documentation, and professional standards are maintained.

  • Foster a collaborative, supportive, and positive night team culture.

Supporting Young People
  • Provide calm, consistent care for young people with autism, ADHD, epilepsy, and severe learning disabilities overnight.

  • Support young people who may wake unsettled, distressed, or display behaviours such as hitting, grabbing, hair-pulling, or self-harm.

  • Use non-verbal communication methods (e.g., PECS, Makaton, visual timetables) to engage non-verbal or minimally verbal young people.

  • Monitor epilepsy and respond safely and appropriately to seizures.

  • Assist with personal care and maintain a nurturing, 'home-away-from-home' environment.

Additional Duties
  • Support planning, delivery, and review of overnight routines to promote safety, wellbeing, and emotional regulation.

  • Step in to cover support worker duties as needed to maintain high-quality care.

  • Respond to emergencies or crisis.
