I am currently representing South Gloucestershire Council who are offering an initial temporary contract for a period of 6 months with a view to be extended or offered a permanent position for the right candidate at a rate which is negotiable dependent upon experience.

We are looking for One Stop Shop Customer Care Officer based at Council Offices, Badminton Rd, Yate, Bristol BS37 5AF

Tuesday - Friday between 8:30am - 5pm

Key Accountabilities :

Self-motivated

able to work as team and individually

use own initiative when dealing with complex applications

have an awareness of the cost-of-living crisis

Assess and process Household Support Fund applications, ensuring accuracy and compliance with eligibility criteria.

Provide clear guidance and support to applicants, explaining the process, and required documentation.

Maintain detailed and accurate records of applications in accordance with council policies and data protection regulations.

Work closely with internal teams and external organisations to connect applicants with additional support services when required.

Address complex or escalated cases, finding tailored solutions to meet individual needs and ensure fair outcomes.

Engage with vulnerable individuals, managing sensitive conversations with understanding, patience, and discretion.

Dealing with high-volume inbox ensuring timely responses, prioritising requests, and maintaining clear communication
