HGV Class 1 Driver – Solihull

People Solutions are currently recruiting for a HGV Class 1 Driver – Solihull to join our well-established client based in Solihull, West Midlands.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a well-known supplier of household goods with plenty of ongoing work available.

Shifts:

• Monday to Friday: start times between 03:00 and 06:00
• Weekend availability if required

Rates of Pay:

• Monday to Friday – £17.00 per hour
• Saturday – £18.00 per hour
• Sunday – £19.00 per hour

Day-to-Day Duties:

As a HGV Class 1 Driver, your duties will include (but are not limited to):

• Operating and driving Category CE vehicles safely and efficiently to and from delivery locations
• Carrying out pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Ensuring all cargo is loaded and secured correctly
• Adhering to all traffic laws and transport regulations
• Communicating effectively with dispatch and customers
• Maintaining accurate records of shipments, mileage, and fuel usage
• Reporting any vehicle defects or maintenance requirements to management
• Assisting with loading and unloading of cargo when required

Essential Skills

As a HGV Class 1 Driver, you will need:

• Valid UK Category CE driving licence
• Minimum of twelve months Category CE driving experience
• No more than six penalty points (no major endorsements)
• Valid UK Driver CPC Card and Digital Tachograph Card
• Good level of spoken and written English
• Experience operating various trailer types
• Reliable, punctual, and professional attitude
• Excellent communication skills
• Flexibility to work overtime when required
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

Desirable Experience

• Previous commercial driving experience across multiple vehicle types

Training Provided

• Industry-related training and ongoing support provided throughout your assignment
