Summary and Qualifications:
Under the direction of the Finance Director, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for the monthly close process, preparation of monthly journal entries and account reconciliations, analysis of monthly operating results, and special ad-hoc projects as assigned in a healthcare environment.
Must have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field with five (5) years' experience working preferably in healthcare accounting. Demonstrated knowledge of accounting laws and regulations and a thorough understanding of methods and techniques utilized in accounting are required. A working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) required. Must have accurate data entry skills, strong communication skills and the ability to work independently and multi-task while working in an environment with specific deadlines.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Knowledge of not-for-profit accounting in accordance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) is required. Healthcare experience is preferred but not required. Must demonstrate understanding of accounting and financial reporting policies and procedures. Must possess a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, and Outlook). Experience with an ERP system is preferred but not required. Must have the ability to perform complex duties with minimal supervision and direction. Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain confidential information and exercise good judgment on a routine basis. Knowledge of the Financial Solution software included with the Netsmart, Avatar and Acumatica HIS is preferred but not required.
