Electrical Engineer - CHP

£35,000 - £40,000 + Company Van + Annual Productivity Bonus

Alecto Recruitment is working with an established engineering company in the gas engine and power generation sector, who are seeking an Electrical Engineer to support installations, upgrades, and maintenance across the UK and Ireland, with occasional overseas travel.

Key Responsibilities

Work effectively both independently and as part of a close-knit engineering team.
Travel to customer sites across the UK and Ireland (with occasional overseas travel) to support project work and engineering activities.
Interpret and work from electrical schematics and technical drawings to complete installations, modifications and repairs.
Carry out electrical panel building, upgrades and modifications where required.
Support installation and commissioning of gas engine and generator set equipment.
Undertake electrical fault finding and diagnostics on genset and engine control systems.
Carry out basic mechanical tasks including installation of engine components such as fuel mixers, ignition rails and sensors.
Complete weekly documentation including worksheets, vehicle checks and expense records.
Support project delivery across a range of sites, ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently.

Minimum Skills and Requirements

Formal electrical qualification such as City & Guilds, NVQ or equivalent in an electrical discipline.
Strong experience with electrical wiring, installation and reading electrical drawings/schematics.
Knowledge or experience working with generator sets (gensets) or power generation equipment.
Previous experience with electrical panel building, upgrades or modifications is highly desirable.
Mechanical awareness, ideally with gas engines or similar rotating equipment.
Comfortable working in a customer-facing engineering role.
Full UK driving licence required.
