Fortress Recruit is proud to partner with a specialist UK manufacturer of high-performance industrial systems to hire a Mechanical Assembly Technician for their site in Fareham.

This is a key hands-on role within a growing technical team, supporting the build, test, and commissioning of precision-engineered fluid filtration equipment used in critical applications worldwide.

Key responsibilities will include:

Assembling mechanical and electrical components including pumps, motors, pipework, and control units

*

Wiring and integrating low-voltage electrical systems

*

Conducting performance and pressure testing on completed assemblies

*

Identifying and resolving faults during assembly and test phases

*

Following technical drawings, build instructions, and quality processes

*

Accurately documenting test results and assembly records

*

Collaborating with engineering and production teams to meet build schedules

*

Supporting continuous improvement across assembly, quality, and safety

To succeed in this role, you will have:

*

Experience in mechanical or electro-mechanical assembly (e.g. capital equipment, pumps, or systems-based manufacturing)

*

A strong understanding of mechanical systems and electrical wiring

*

Confidence in reading and working from technical drawings and schematics

*

A methodical, quality-focused approach to problem solving

*

Good communication skills and a collaborative mindset

*

An engineering qualification (mechanical or related field - desirable)

*

Experience in testing, commissioning, or fault-finding

*

Forklift licence or willingness to undergo training

*

Familiarity with ISO9001 or other quality standards

This is a full-time, permanent, on-site position based in Fareham, offering a salary of c£28,000 DoE plus benefits.
