Senior Process Engineering Summary At PerkinElmer our mission is to innovate for a healthier world and as part of our business strategy we are targeting to be the Market Leader in genomic microfluidics. At our facility in Hopkinton we are seeking an experienced Process Engineer for our Chip Fab Facility which is making consumable Microfluidic LabChips. These are miniaturized etched glass plates designed to emulate pumps and valves without moving parts and critical to the performance of our applications. This role is designed to be the cornerstone of our process performance. The Senior Process Engineer will be the key driver for problem solving and design optimization for existing and new products. Hands on expertise combined with excellent Process Engineering and Analytical skills are the keys to success in the role. Develop and execute process capability studies to characterize the manufacturing processes and develop associated specifications. Analyze data using sound statistical methodology to drive process, efficiency, and quality improvements. Establish relationships across various departments to drive cohesive learning and cross functional problem solving. Qualify sources of raw materials, chemicals and other ingredients used in the process. Perform Root Cause Analysis and resolve difficult process and engineering issues using structured problem-solving skills. Eg FMEA, DMAIC and 8D Strong knowledge of SAP or equivalent ERP system, product BOM structure creation, modification, routings as well as parts maintenance, and processing of Engineering Change Notices (ECN €™s). Conduct Design of Experiments (DOE) to evaluate changes to the process and predict the resulting changes to the output of the process. Provide technical direction, and training to ensure that manufacturing operators, testers, inspectors and support staff have the necessary skills, appropriate Work Instructions, tooling and process control capability to be successful. Basic Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical or Materials Engineering 5 Years €™ experience in process characterization and data analysis with the ability to draw conclusions and develop action plans. Preferred Requirements: Experience in Microfluidic Manufacturing Technologies preferred 3 years of experience in Lithography, Etch, Bonding, Dicing, Glue and Cure processes.
